GAAQGuild show

The Greater Ann Arbor Quilt Guild had their biennial show . The ambiance and quilts were great.
There was a special exhibit with quilts of Sue Nickels and Pat Holly, lots of vendors and demos.
Sue Rothamel from USArtquest shared some great techniques for embellishments.
There were also Fractured quilts from the Creative Seasons Art quilt group. Several of us took one photograph and created a quilt. It was then divided up and resewn so that each person in the group ended with with a gorgeous art quilt.

The last one is my finished and embellished quilt.

Modern Quilt Guild Ann Arbor

I attended a meeting at the Modern Quilt Guild Ann Arbor. I saw Debbie and Jenna and met many new members including the president who owns an online business. They had a Mondrian fabric exchange...what a cute box for the fabrics!  For show n tell, there was a baby quilt with panels, a graphic design front the 70s, a single ring quilt and a rectangular strip quilt.
They discussed the Quilt Con conference in Austin TX in February and their retreat in August.
They are also screenprinting next week.

Botanical Glass exhibition

The Botanical Glass exhibition at 7315 Drake Road, in West Bloomfiled, MI was totally inspiring. The giant glass flowers and plants are in a beautiful conservatory setting. Real koi swam among the colorful glass koi in the pond.
The free exhibition lasts through August 20.
