A New Birth Announcement! Grab Bag Challenge with Zentangles

A New Birth Announcement!
A photo of 3 calves sent with a ziploc bag of fabrics was the inspiration of this quilt. Used the Poster Edge filter in Photoshop and enlarged the design to create the appliques.

The calves’ bodies were embellished with Zentangles doodles. The black frame was cut with the Cricut Expression machine.

My additions: painted cheesecloth hay and the cows charm announcing a New Baby.

My Alzheimer's Quilt, Mixed Emotions came home after touring the US the last five years. The exhibit, Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece was seen by over 200,000 people. The quilt reflects hearbreaking experiences and effects of Alzhiemer's on my MIL. Sadly, she is no longer with us.

A CD and book were sold highlighting the quilts and the stories of the quilts.

The 112-page full color book, Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece, with photographs of all the quilts in the exhibit was completely sold out. A computer CD narrated by the artists is for sale at    All profits from the sale of the CD and book is used to fund Alzheimer's research.
