Creative Word Art Design
Translate your favorite quotation, first name, family name or
milestone into a quilt. Create original designs with letters, words, your sense
of humor, or give free advice. We will use text as background, create cut
outs, use positive / negative images and do many more exercises.
Brainstorm to create first on paper and then on fabric using multiple
resources.
Create your own quilts or personalize them for gifts.
Supplies:
A few fat quarters in a variety of colors, fabric with text, fabric
with text in selvedges, paper, pencil, color pencils/ markers, blank index cards, glue
stick, ruler, rotary cutter and mat, scissors. Sewing machine, batting,
backing, a yard of fusible web, and basic sewing supplies.
Optional supplies: Laptop or smartphone, word/ letter stamps and inkpads, Diecuttter
and text dies if you own them. Buttons, charms, scrabble tiles, found objects, ric rac,
trims, zippers
