Detroit Skyline Quilt

 

The challenge was to use infinity and perspective.

A photo from a cruise on the Detroit River is in the center. I learned how to apply special effects in a software program, Fabric Studio. It was hand quilted with silver thread.

Jane shared how she uses the www.spoonflower.com website to print fabrics.

She also uses the thicker ecofelt for backing available from JoAnn's. A silver flat slat from the hardware store is spray painted black . Single holes are drilled on either edge and the slat is glued between holes to the felt on the back for hanging. She hand embroiders on the edges and between the panels.
