Love Birds, Project Quilt Season 17.1 - Clean Slate.

 

 A clean slate offers new possibilities. Cherish, savor and nourish the sensational and memorable feeling of a new love whether it’s a friend, a spouse, a child, a grandchild or a new place or a new project.

 Began with a quilted white background using the 2026 Pantone prompt, Cloud Dreamer.  Added a black door for contrast with beads. Embossed a silver cardstock foil for interest. Appliqued a red heart for a dash of color. Cut out bird shapes from a red coke can for the focal point.

This will also be my donation to the 2026 SAQA Spotlight Auction Fundraiser of 6" x 8" art quilts.

Materials: Beads, coke can, cotton, embellishments, foil cardstock, sequins   

   Techniques: Applique, beading, hand embroidery, machine quilting

The top ones were my contribition to the swap. adde selvedges and used both the inside and outside of embossed Perrier water cans

Stripes Cats Postcarsd

The stripes of the 3D blinds (heat transfer vinyl) are twisted out of shape thanks to the cats. Embossed a Perrier water can, die cut out a tree shape, and used the negative space to add paper bar code stripes. Sewed a barcode pot from another drink can and added selvedges at base for this fabric postcard.

 Cyanotype  fabric postcard. Turmeric in center, coffee tannin on edges. Beaded the die holes to finsh it.

Pothead Planter ...version2

Contingency plan in case Lulu's hair (live plant) does not survive. Added a patriotic ribbon and flashing lights to a hat. The grandchildren will probably enjoy this alternative.
