My quilt, Keys To The Nation in the Inspired By the Nation's Capital by Donna DeSoto
Keys
To The Nation
The Washington
DC skyline was combined with a key in Make The Cut software. It was cut out by
an electronic cutter and both the positive and negative designs were appliqued
in the quilt. The positives and negatives that happen in DC affects the rest of
the nation. The USA map has Zentangle designs with Pigma pens
Materials: Buttons,
cottons, net, sheers, ribbons, trims
This is one of 103 quilts, 24" square, in Donna Marcinkowski DeSoto's newest book, "Inspired by the Nation's Capital" published by Schiffer will be available everywhere books are sold on September 27.

Paper, Soldering Iron, Holes!
I sewed the quilt onto a perfect cotton background, then stapled it to a canvas.
The quilt was made previously by using the heat tool to burn holes on Yupo paper.
The colors were added with alcohol inks. I also added net and paper to complete the quilt.
